Adirondack Can't Hold on to Lead, Falls to New Kensington
The SUNY Adirondack softball team was defeated by Penn State New Kensington, 7–1, on Tuesday.
Adirondack struck first in the opening inning, using aggressive baserunning to take an early lead with a steal of home. Penn State New Kensington responded in the second inning to even the score before gradually building a lead as the game progressed.
Emma Martens led the Timberwolves at the plate with a strong performance, going 3-for-3 while also swiping two bases.
Reagan Gebo got the start in the circle for SUNY Adirondack and worked all seven innings, allowing just seven runs while keeping the Timberwolves within striking distance throughout the contest.
Penn State New Kensington totaled 14 hits in the game and was able to take advantage of key opportunities offensively to secure the victory.
SUNY Adirondack will look to bounce back as they continue their spring schedule in upcoming action.
