SUNY Adirondack Drops Season Finale at Monroe CC
ROCHESTER, N.Y. —
SUNY Adirondack wrapped up its 2024 softball season with a tough 18-0 loss to Monroe Community College on Sunday in the second game of the road doubleheader.
Monroe broke the game open with a five-run second inning, followed by a nine-run outburst in the third. SUNY Adirondack struggled to recover as Monroe continued to capitalize on defensive miscues and timely extra-base hits.
Maddy Wasserman took the loss in the circle, going the full five innings. She allowed 18 runs, eight of them earned, on 13 hits, while striking out one and walking four.
Despite the result, the Timberwolves got a strong offensive performance from Natalie Conroy, who led the team with a 2-for-2 day at the plate. SUNY Adirondack tallied three hits in total.
Monroe's pitcher earned the complete-game win, holding the Timberwolves scoreless over five innings, striking out five and allowing no walks.
SUNY Adirondack finishes its season with a gritty road effort and will look to build toward 2025 with a foundation of young talent and veteran leadership.
