Timberwolves Battle to the End in Extra-Inning Loss at Erie

SUNY Adirondack battled until the final pitch in a back-and-forth contest on Saturday but came up just short, falling 12-11 to SUNY Erie in a walk-off during the first game of a doubleheader.
Tied at 11 in the bottom of the eighth, SUNY Erie scored the game-winning run when Bella Raimondi was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. The dramatic ending capped off a high-scoring affair that featured 19 combined hits and 18 walks.
Adirondack took an early 3-1 lead in the third inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Emma Martens and a steal of home. The Timberwolves stayed aggressive on the bases all game, swiping eight bags, including two each from Martens and EmmyLou Richards.
After Erie surged ahead with a seven-run sixth inning, the Timberwolves clawed back to tie the game in the seventh, powered by patient at-bats and key singles from Maddie Pincheon and Natalie Conroy.
In the eighth, Martens again came through with a clutch double and later stole home, giving Adirondack an 11-9 lead before Erie mounted their final rally.
Conroy led the Timberwolves offensively, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Martens, Conroy, and Alyssa Jaffe each collected two hits, while Adirondack as a team drew eight walks.
On the mound, Maddy Wasserman took the loss in relief, while Sam Manning started and struck out four over five innings. Erie's Cheyenne Barnard earned the win with a one-inning appearance.
Despite the loss, SUNY Adirondack showed tremendous resilience and grit, pushing the game to extras and keeping the pressure on throughout.
