AUBURN, NY —
The SUNY Adirondack baseball team dropped the opening game of a doubleheader on the road against nationally ranked Cayuga Community College, falling 12-2.
Despite facing a strong opponent, the Timberwolves showed flashes offensively. Ryan Gillis drove in both runs for SUNY Adirondack, while Charlie Gendron led the way at the plate with two hits.
Cayuga's lineup proved difficult to contain, as the Spartans capitalized on key scoring opportunities throughout the game to pull away.
SUNY Adirondack will look to regroup in the second game of the doubleheader as they continue to compete against one of the top programs in the country.
