Bio

SUNY Adirondack is proud to welcome Erica Knolhoff as the new Head Women’s Soccer Coach. A highly accomplished educator, multi-sport coach, and former standout collegiate athlete, she brings extensive leadership and player-development experience to the Timberwolves program.

Coach Knolhoff currently serves as a Physical Education teacher at Schenectady High School, where she has held both the Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach and the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach positions. Her coaching career spans multiple states and levels of competition, reflecting a long-standing commitment to building strong programs and mentoring student-athletes on and off the field.

Previously, she served as the Athletic Director at Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she was also the Head Varsity Women’s Basketball Coach. Her administrative experience also includes posts as Athletic Director at Belmont High School in New Hampshire, Nashua Community College, and Hesser College, where she additionally served as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach.

Collegiate Athletic Career

A decorated three-sport collegiate athlete, Coach Knolhoff competed in basketball, soccer, and softball at Green Mountain College and earned distinction across all three:

  • In soccer, she was a starting defender, helped win multiple conference titles, and competed in back-to-back NAIA National Tournaments.
  • In basketball, she was a four-year starting guard, team captain, team MVP, and 1,000-point scorer.
  • In softball, she was a four-year starting shortstop and team MVP, contributing to multiple championship seasons.

She was recognized for her multi-sport excellence as the Green Mountain College Female Athlete of the Year in 2003.

Education

Coach Knolhoff earned her Bachelor’s degree from Green Mountain College and went on to complete her Master of Education with a focus in Athletic Administration from Plymouth State University in 2010.
