Three Timberwolves Earn Al--Conference Honors
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. —
The SUNY Adirondack men's basketball program placed three student-athletes on the Mountain Valley All-Conference Team, highlighted by sophomore guard Messiah "Moose" McLaurin earning Second Team honors and sophomores Mariano DiCaterino and freshman Ash Hunter being named to the Third Team.
DiCaterino, a sophomore guard, earned Third Team recognition after averaging 9.5 points per game while shooting over 38 percent from three-point range. One of the program's most consistent perimeter threats, he has totaled 83 made three-pointers in his Adirondack career.
McLaurin was selected to the Mountain Valley Second Team following a standout all-around season. The sophomore guard averaged 15.5 points per game and led the entire Region III in assists with 153 this season, surpassing 250 career assists in a Timberwolves uniform.
Hunter, a freshman guard, also earned Third Team honors after averaging 9.5 points per game and knocking down 71 three-pointers at a 40 percent clip in his first collegiate season. His shooting efficiency and immediate offensive impact ranked among the best by a Timberwolves freshman in recent years.
The trio helped lead Adirondack to a 17-10 overall record and a berth in the NJCAA Region III Tournament.
