Men's Basketball Drops First Game Back From Winter Break
Queensbury, NY —
The SUNY Adirondack men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought home contest to Fulton-Montgomery Community College on Wednesday night, falling 86–74 and moving to 7–7 on the season.
Fulton-Montgomery set the tone early, coming out firing on the offensive end and building an 11-point halftime lead. Adirondack responded with energy and urgency in the second half, putting together a strong run fueled by perimeter shooting and defensive pressure.
Sophomore Mariano DiCaterino and freshman Ash Hunter sparked the comeback, combining for five three-pointers during a second-half surge that brought the Timberwolves back into the game and led to multiple lead changes. Jovanny Fabre led Adirondack in scoring with 16 points while also contributing five rebounds.
Despite the momentum shift, foul trouble and fatigue proved costly down the stretch. Fulton-Montgomery capitalized late, pulling away in the final minutes to secure the 86–74 victory.
SUNY Adirondack now turns its focus to a busy weekend, hosting regional opponents Onondaga Community College and Jefferson Community College at home. The Timberwolves will look to defend their home floor and regain momentum as conference play continues.
