Timberwolves Respond with Convincing Road Win at Cayuga
AUBURN, NY —
Less than 24 hours after a tough loss at Finger Lakes, the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves Men's Basketball team bounced back in a big way Thursday night, securing a 79–61 road victory over Cayuga Community College.
Freshman David Hutchinson delivered a breakout performance in his first collegiate start, dominating the interior with a school-record 23 rebounds, along with 9 points and 3 blocks. His relentless effort on the glass set the tone early and proved to be a major difference in the game.
Sophomore guard Messiah "Moose" McLaurin turned in his best offensive outing of the season, scoring a career-high 24 points, attacking the rim and consistently creating scoring opportunities for the Timberwolves.
Freshman Ash Hunter provided instant offense off the bench, knocking down five 3-pointers — a strong response following a cold shooting night the evening prior.
"It was exactly the kind of response we needed," said the Timberwolves coaching staff. "The guys showed toughness and togetherness after a quick turnaround on the road."
With the win, SUNY Adirondack rises back to an even record (6–6) and now looks ahead to one final road matchup before winter break. The Timberwolves travel to Ulster on Wednesday, December 10, aiming to close out the semester with a winning record.
