Timberwolves Grind Out Hard-Fought Win Over Utica
Queensbury, NY —
The SUNY Adirondack Men's Basketball team showed toughness and late-game composure Wednesday night, earning an 83–79 victory at home against Utica University's JV squad — a roster featuring several varsity-level players competing for time on the main team.
Foul trouble and fatigue presented challenges for SUNY Adirondack throughout the contest, but the Timberwolves stayed poised when it mattered most. With seconds remaining and the game on the line, Ash Hunter drilled his fourth three-pointer of the night to seal the win and ignite the home crowd.
Sophomore Messiah "Moose" McLaurin, fresh off a triple-double performance, continued his strong play with 15 points and 8 assists, while JP Dickerson and Mariano DiCaterino each added 13 points, contributing to a balanced attack. In total, five Timberwolves reached double figures, and the team's depth shined with 28 points off the bench.
"This was a true team win," said Head Coach Maxx Sweet. "We faced adversity, but our guys trusted each other, defended when we needed stops, and executed in big moments."
The Timberwolves now turn their focus to a pivotal weekend of Region 3 competition, hitting the road to face Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday followed by a Sunday matchup at Cayuga Community College.
