SUNY Adirondack Battles Back Late, Falls in Championship to #12 Northampton CC
Bethlehem, PA –
SUNY Adirondack came up just short in the Northampton CC Tip-Off Tournament Championship Game on Sunday afternoon, falling to the host and nationally ranked No. 12 Northampton Spartans, 74–70.
The Timberwolves opened the game strong but entered halftime trailing 46–31. Down by as many as 17 in the second half, Adirondack stormed back behind a relentless defensive stretch and timely scoring, eventually taking a one-point lead with 2:58 remaining.
However, foul trouble and free throw struggles proved to be costly late. The Wolves finished the game shooting just 17-of-42 from the free throw line.
Sophomore forward JP Dickerson delivered another strong performance, leading SUNY Adirondack with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Ash Hunter and Messiah McLaurin also added 10 points apiece in the effort.
The Timberwolves leave the opening weekend 1–1 and return home with strong momentum following a competitive championship appearance against one of the nation's top-ranked programs.
SUNY Adirondack will return to action next week as they continue non-conference play.
