The SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves men's basketball team opened their 2025–26 season in convincing fashion, defeating Nassau Community College 81–65 in the opening round of the Northampton CC Tip-Off Tournament.
The Timberwolves jumped out to a commanding 46–23 halftime lead, showcasing sharp execution on both ends of the floor. Sophomore guard JP Dickerson led the charge with 16 points and 8 rebounds, setting the tone for the Wolves.
Freshman guard Messiah McLaurin added 15 points and 6 assists, while Mekhi Walker and Oscar Lilac also reached double figures to balance a well-rounded offensive effort.
SUNY Adirondack now advances to the Championship Game on Sunday, November 2, where they will face the host and nationally ranked No. 12 Northampton Spartans at 2:00 p.m.
Head Coach Maxx Sweet praised his team's focus and composure in their season debut, noting that the group "played with great energy and togetherness from start to finish."
