SUNY Adirondack Baseball Takes Game One of Doubleheader with 8–5 Win Over Mohawk Valley
QUEENSBURY, NY —
SUNY Adirondack Baseball opened its home doubleheader against Mohawk Valley Community College with an impressive 8–5 victory, fueled by strong pitching and timely hitting.
After a challenging third inning, sophomore right-hander Pat Messineo settled in and dominated on the mound. Messineo finished with six innings pitched, allowing just that early damage before locking in for five consecutive scoreless frames. He also struck out six batters in a gutsy performance that helped stabilize the Timberwolves.
Offensively, SUNY Adirondack was led by a standout performance from Patrick McKinley, who delivered in key moments throughout the game. McKinley recorded two hits and drove in four runs, providing the spark the Timberwolves needed to take control.
With the game on the line, Nick Sparzo came out of the bullpen in the seventh inning and shut the door, tossing a scoreless frame to earn the save. The Timberwolves now look to carry that momentum into the second game of the doubleheader as they continue their home stand.
