Timberwolves Take Game One of Doubleheader with Dominant 8–0 Win Over Holyoke
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. —
SUNY Adirondack baseball opened its doubleheader against Holyoke Community College in dominant fashion, earning an 8–0 shutout victory behind strong pitching and timely offense.
Sophomore right-hander Jimmy Johnson set the tone on the mound, delivering five scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three. Johnson controlled the pace throughout, keeping Holyoke off balance and limiting scoring opportunities.
Nick Sparzo came on in relief and slammed the door, preserving the shutout and securing the win for the Timberwolves.
Offensively, SUNY Adirondack capitalized on key opportunities. Louis Betit and Patrick McKinley each drove in two runs to lead the way, helping the Timberwolves build and maintain a comfortable lead throughout the game.
With the win, SUNY Adirondack gains momentum heading into the second leg of the doubleheader.
