Bishop’s Three-Hit Day Powers SUNY Adirondack Past Columbia-Greene, 8-6
HUDSON, N.Y. —
Tommy Bishop went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead SUNY Adirondack to an 8-6 road win over Columbia-Greene Community College in the first game of Friday's doubleheader.
The Timberwolves erupted for six runs in the top of the second inning to take early control. Jack Taylor got things started with a two-run single, followed by an RBI single from Bishop. Christian Mikulski added a two-run double, and Juan Cornelio capped the rally with a sacrifice fly.
Columbia-Greene chipped away at the deficit but couldn't close the gap as Adirondack's bullpen shut things down late.
Owen Rowe earned the win for SUNY Adirondack, allowing six runs (only one earned) on five hits over three innings. Ryan Reagan was dominant in relief, tossing four shutout innings, giving up just three hits while striking out seven.
Mikulski led the Timberwolves with three RBIs on a 2-for-4 performance. Bishop added a multi-hit game with three singles, and both he and Aiden Parslow were aggressive on the bases, each stealing multiple bags. SUNY Adirondack totaled five stolen bases in the contest.
With the win, SUNY Adirondack opened the doubleheader on a strong note. Game 2 followed later Friday.
