SUNY Adirondack Falls to HVCC in Game Two of Doubleheader, 6-3

The SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves came up short in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader, falling 6-3 to the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings.
The Timberwolves opened the scoring in the top of the first inning when Charlie Gendron delivered an RBI single. HVCC responded in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly from Christian Aguilar to tie the game at one.
SUNY Adirondack briefly regained the lead in the fourth, as Aiden Parslow singled to drive in a run and put the Timberwolves ahead 2-1. However, HVCC answered in the bottom half of the inning, plating two runs, including one on a sacrifice fly by Nico DeSanto, to take a 3-2 lead.
Christian Mikulski tied the game once again in the top of the fifth with a double to right field, scoring one. But HVCC took control for good in the bottom of the inning with Aguilar's second sacrifice fly of the game, giving the Vikings a 4-3 advantage. They added two insurance runs later to secure the 6-3 victory.
Jimmy Wilson earned the win for HVCC, allowing two runs on four hits over four innings while striking out one and walking one. SUNY Adirondack's Ben Viggiani took the loss, giving up five runs on four hits over five innings, with one strikeout and four walks.
The Timberwolves offense was led by Gendron, Mikulski, and Parslow, each of whom drove in a run. SUNY Adirondack totaled six hits on the day, with contributions from Cody Nelson, Tommy Bishop, and Ryan Reagan. The defense turned three double plays to help keep the game close.
For HVCC, Carson Jenkins-Antle and Niko Sorice each had two hits while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Sorice and Aguilar led the Vikings with two RBIs apiece. The Vikings played error-free baseball, with Sorice leading the defense with five assists.
