SUNY Adirondack Falls to Mohawk Valley CC, 8-4
UTICA, N.Y. —
The SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves came up short against Mohawk Valley Community College on Thursday, falling 8-4 on the road.
Mohawk Valley jumped out to an early lead, plating one run in the first inning on a groundout by Rauth. They added another in the second when Kanda doubled to center field, bringing in a run.
The Hawks extended their lead in the third with a double by Rauth and a single from Boughner, pushing the score further in their favor.
Dylan Cavanaugh took the mound to start for SUNY Adirondack, going 2.1 innings while allowing six hits and five runs (four earned). He recorded two strikeouts and one walk. Mohawk Valley's Anbotti earned the win, pitching a complete game. He gave up seven hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two.
Offensively, Aiden Parslow led the Timberwolves, going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Charlie Gendron also collected two hits on the day.
Mohawk Valley's offense was powered by a 12-hit performance, with Morotti leading the way with three hits in four at-bats. Rauth, Kanda, and Boughner each drove in two runs, and Clemente added two hits of his own. The Hawks were aggressive on the bases, tallying four stolen bases.
The Timberwolves will look to bounce back when they take on Jefferson Community College on Friday.
