Adirondack takes down Mohawk Valley in 1st leg of Sunday Double-Header
UTICA, NY —
In a strong showing on the road, SUNY Adirondack Baseball earned a hard-fought 3–1 victory over Mohawk Valley Community College on Sunday, thanks to a dominant pitching performance from Dylan Cavanaugh and timely offense from Christian Mikulski and Aiden Parslow.
Cavanaugh was stellar on the mound, going seven innings while allowing just one run on seven hits. The right-hander struck out five and walked only one, recording 21 outs to earn the win. The Timberwolves backed him up with clean defense, playing error-free baseball throughout the contest.
The game remained scoreless until the top of the fourth inning when Mikulski sparked the offense with a run-scoring double. Parslow followed with a well-executed sacrifice bunt, bringing in another run to give SUNY Adirondack a 2–0 lead. Mikulski finished the game 1-for-2 with two RBIs, providing crucial production from the middle of the order.
Peyton Richardson paced the Timberwolves' offense with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, while Chase Refici anchored the defense with a team-high five chances in the field.
Mohawk Valley's starter, Burdick, went the distance as well, striking out seven over seven innings while allowing five hits and three runs—two of them earned.
Rauth led the Hawks at the plate, going 2-for-3, while Scholl drove in their lone run of the game.
With the win, SUNY Adirondack continues to build momentum as the season progresses, showing grit on the road and poise in tight games.
