The SUNY Adirondack Lady Timberwolves split a double-header with Jefferson Community College on Monday, after being forced to forfeit game 1 due to an injury. According to NJCAA Rules, a team must forfeit the game, ending in a 7-0 result if there is no substitute available. After an injury in the top of the 4th inning, the Lady Timberwolves were left with no substitute being forced to take the 7-0 forfeit in a game they had led wire to wire and 10-3 at the time of the injury.
Despite the unfortunate defeat, Head Coach Jack Celeste was able to rally the troops to an offensive outburst in game 2, seeing the Lady Timberwolves to an 18-4 victory. Led by Casey Batchelder (Fort Ann, NY) who went 4-4 at the plate with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and 2 RBI's. Game 2 also saw Lauryn Zovistoski (Granville, NY) gather 3 hits, while 4 other Timberwolves players accounted for 2 hits a piece. Lizze Richards (Argyle, NY) continued her stellar pitching display allowing just 4 Earned Runs on 7 hits.
The Lady Timberwolves will be looking ahead to a Thursday afternoon Double-Header at Morse Field with SUNY Delhi beginning at 3pm.
