RECAP: Softball Caps Off Week With Double-Header Sweep Of Clinton

The Lady Timberwolves were able to continue their winning ways with a convincing double-header sweep of Clinton Community College to cap off a 3-1 week. With a 34 hit attack in both games with Clinton, the bats have proven to be a strong point so far this season for the lady wolves.

The lady Timberwolves started their week with a 6-2 loss in game one of a double-header with Mohawk Valley CC, a game in which the Lady Timberwolves were able to use as a motivational rally toward the rest of the week.  The Timberwolves were able to avenge the game one loss in game two, in which the Lady Timberwolves won 8-7 with a late game rally, including Megan Brockway's walk-off RBI Single that plated Lauryn Zovistoski in the bottom of the 8th inning.

     The Lady Tiumberwolves were able to continue this assualt in the Double-Header with Clinton CC later on in the week.  In game one, the wolves were led by a balanced attack as Kait Sarti, Demi Stockman, the red hot Lauryn Zovistoski, Megan Brockway, Hannah Salmon all had two hits apiece, with Lindsey Decker getting 3 hits. Stockman, Broackway and Decker each had a double and Casey Batchelder contributed a triple.  Lizze Richards scattered 1 hit with 12 strikeouts as she too has been lights out on the mound winning 5 of her last 6 decisions.
     In the 2nd game, the wolves exploded in the 2nd inning with 8 runs to an easy 16-6 victory. Lauryn Zovistoski, LIndsey Decker and Casey Batchelder each had 3 hits with Zovistoski hitting a double.  Hannah Salmon hit a triple and Demi Stockman, Megan Brockway, Salmon, Lizze Richards each contributed 2 hits a piece.  Richards got the pitching win again and Hannah Salmon came on in the 4th to preserve the win as the Timberwolves improve to a record of 5-1 in Regional play.
     The Timberwolves continue play on Monday with a make-up doubleheader against Jefferson CC in Watertown.  Game times are 3:00 and 5:00pm.
