RECAP: Baseball Goes 4-1 On The Week!

The SUNY Adirondack baseball team went 4-1 on the week.  The Timberwolves went 2-1 against SUNY Jefferson and 2-0 against Herkimer CC.  The team is starting to hit their stride both offensively and defensively.  SUNY Adirondack is currently the top hitting team in Region III with a .339 team batting average, and they are fifth in team ERA(5.44).

The Timberwolves 7th inning comeback in game 1 VS. Jefferson fell short, after they were unable to take advantage of a bases-loaded, no-out situation.  However, the second game saw the bats come alive as the Timberwolves were able to score 13 runs on 14 hits.  The timberwolves lineup saw multiple players with 2 hits, including Pitcher Aaron Cook, who led the team with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's.

After the Thursday afternoon split with Jefferson CC, the Timberwolves geared up for a Saturday afternoon Double-Header with Herkimer CC.  Game 1 featured a stellar pitching performance from feshman Max Perrotta, allowing just 3 earned runs on 4 hits.  Ryan Ruddy led the Timberwolves at the plate in game 1 with 3 hits, including a double.

Game 2 gave way to an offensive explosion from the Timberwolves.  Led by Sophomore DH Nate Corhouse, who compiled 5 RBI's over 4 hits.  Another excellent pitching performance from Freshman Joe Micare who threw 93 strikes over seven innings, allowing just six earned runs.   The Timberwolves are back at home on April 22nd against Hudson Valley Community College for a double-header starting at 12pm.
